The black Sony ECM-77BC is a miniature omnidirectional lavalier microphone designed for professional broadcast, sound reinforcement, and recording applications. The condenser mic element's tiny profile allows it to be easily concealed in performance and broadcast situations.

The omnidirectional polar pattern provides even frequency and sensitivity response at the direct and off-axis sections of the microphone capsule, helping to provide consistent levels, even if the talent isn't speaking directly toward the mic.

The ECM-77 provides a wide frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz for accurate reproduction of speech and vocals and requires 1.1 to 10 VDC power from a compatible wireless transmitter or similar device. A windscreen to reduce wind and breath noise and a tie clip to attach the mic to clothing are included.

  • Third-Party Devices: The ECM-77 will work with many third-party wireless transmitters and portable audio recorders that are equipped to supply 1.1 to 10 VDC through a 4-pin Sony Hirose connector.

Omnidirectional Polar Pattern

The forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all around the mic and provides a consistent frequency response, even for off-axis sound. This helps to supply clear, intelligible speech and vocals, even when the talent turns away from the microphone.
